Munix offers all the services available in other hotspot solution; whereas Munix extends various other services that not available in other hotspot solution. The power of Munix lies in its Omicron Engine. Munix can help you maximizing the business opportunity using various Business Intelligence reports.
For example, if a Saloon is equipped with Munix solution, based on the visits and time spent by customer, Omicron can automatically predict the customers' next haircut due and help them to fix appointment via SMS; whereas most hotspot solutions can only provide authentication service
Omicron is an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engine. The learning algorithms of the Omicron Engine continuously learn about the customers' behavior and preferences. The accuracy of the prediction is proportionate to amount of information learned by Omicron. Larger the data, higher the accuracy of the predictions..
For example, consider a Retail Outlet, as customer visit the store and spend time at various counters, Omicron can learn about their interest in our products/service. As the store owner re-fills the stock, Omicron can automatically find the list of customers who may interested in the product and send welcome message that requests them to visit store.

In most countries DSL/ADSL/VDSL connections are not provided in symmetric upload/download bandwidth. It is generally 1:5 or less. In case of inadequate upload bandwidth, the customer will not get seamless access experience. In addition, Munix uses your upload bandwidth to communicate with Munix Cloud infrastructure to store logs and authenticate users. In case of low upload bandwidth, the user experience will be enjoyable. Hence we do not recommend DSL/ADSL/VDSL connections.
We recommend high speed Internet connection (broadband or leased line) with symmetric bandwidth capacity in upload and download. Munix offers great flexibility in controlling the bandwidth given to WiFi users, hence bandwidth may be managed within Munix.
For WiFi users, we suggest:
- Up to 512kbps for general browsing & email service
- Up to 1 mbps for Social Networking Sites
- Up to 2 mbps for video chatting
- Up to 4 mbps for online movie viewing
Your bandwidth capacity required should be 1/3 to 1/10 of the concurrent user count multiplied by the per user average bandwidth. 1/3 will be provide rich user experience and the 1/10 will provide poor user experience. You can play around the number and find the best suitable for your requirement.
